This is a card that a friend has asked me to make for her to give to some friends when she goes back home to Canada in July. However, I made it yesterday and remembered seeing that Caardvarks had a challenge for Black & White + One and I think it fits the challenge. Black & White + Silver.

Products:

Handmade paper (Silver & White)
Black Bling Ribbon
Pearl Buckle
Silver Brads

Please feel free to leave comments across my posts I love to know what you think, or even just say 'Hi' cause you stopped by.

Catch Up 2 - Unity Candles

Last weekend saw us have a quick break away to share in our friends Tamara & Joel's special day, their Wedding, up on the Central Coast. We had a good time, it was just a shame that the weather wasn't so great. During the week leading upto the wedding I caught up with Tam to put together their Unity Candles, which you can see above. Thanks to Tam and Joel for letting me do them for you, I'm sure they are something that you'll treasure for years to come.

Scrappy Week & Catchup 1

Long time between posts again, and believe me I've felt guilty about not getting to post. After our boys 1st Birthday, I got called to do a fair bit of casual work which was a huge change cause it had been 12 months since I'd taught. But it was a nice change, I'd forgotten how much I enjoy teaching, but also how much I love being able to spend my days with Blake. So anyways, onto more crafty matters...

Above is a photo of a set of invites I made for my nieces 5th Birthday. Just a criss-cross card using the Disney Princess Cuttlebug die set. She absolutely loved them, and to top it off and match in with the whole Cinderella theme, I helped my sister create a Cinderella cake like I made the Lightning McQueen cake. The party went well and it was also good to catch up and see all my nieces and nephews having fun.

A scrappy week...
I put in some Aunty time also this week, taking the two eldest to Scrapbook Dreams to do a couple of kids classes.
On Monday I took my nephew (12) to a teens class to make a "Mini Book About Me", which he seemed to enjoy. He took it home before I got the chance to take any pics of his efforts. But I'll be sure to get some sometime this week coming and post them. I also took a cousin with us on  Monday (16) and she too enjoyed it. I really enjoyed sharing this time with them and hope that next holidays we can do some other classes.

On Tuesday I took my niece (5) to a class and she made a little canvas and a card, which was really cute. She really surprised me on what she could do. Once again no pics taken but will take some during the week when I see them.

Wednesday I started a new 8 week course, which will be lots of fun... Brenda is teaching it so I'm sure I'll learn lots. Also finalised design for my brother-in-law's 40th Birthday invites.

Thursday, I started the production of B-I-L's 40th invites, these are baseball themed.
Will post up some pics of these over the next couple of days.

Friday caught up with some friends to do some crafting for a couple of hours.

I have another couple of posts for today. So be sure to come back.

What an awesome scrappy week I've had and its not over yet! Woohoo!

Busy busy busy....

Way to long since my last blog, as I've been super busy. Our little man turned 1 on Saturday and so I have been kept busy with the prep for that for the last few weeks and have spent the last couple of days recovering! Thankfully everything ran smoothly, we had a party for him with just family and a couple of close friends.
Even so, it was still 50 people, so there was a bit to organise.

The party was themed around the Disney character Lightning McQueen, from Cars.
The invitations were of course handmade by myself, and every piece apart from the eyes (I was able to use my cricut for these), were hand cut.
They were very time consuming, but I was happy with the end result.

I also made his cake myself, and I'm pretty pleased with it, considering I've never done any sort of cake decorating before.

I'm also about to finish off some invitations for my neice's 5th Birthday, but no pics of them as yet. I will post them probably over the weekend.

Tutorial Request: Over the weekend I will also post up my First tutorial, based upon the card I made for Brenda for her birthday, as seen in my previous post. Thanks Gwen for your request. How exciting for me! :0)

Happy Belated Birthday Brenda!

In my last post earlier this morning, I promised a new but old project. Well it's only a couple of weeks old and it was for Brenda's birthday at the beginning of this month. I held off on posting it
up because I didn't want her to see it before I gave it to her.

For this card I used papers from Doodlebug Designs and an Autumn Leaves butterfly stamp.
I also used my aqua pen to gives different parts of the butterfly different tones. to see it on here before I gave it to her. However, when I looked at the picture today I realised I didn't use any Kindyglitz. (So not like me). Anyways, I hope you liked it Brenda.

Finally last night I had the opportunity to give it to her at the next series of Cardmaking classes she is teaching. On the subject of class last night, we made an Easter card which was very cute, with gorgeous flowers and a cute little basket.
(Hopefully she'll post a pic up on her blog, showing off her wonderful design talents).
*Hint Hint Brenda* ;o)

Blake's invites are underway finally and I will certainly post a pic up of them towards the end of the weekend once I am finished them. They are a little late going out, but hey at least they will be going out.

To all, have a lovely weekend and please leave a comment to let me know you stopped by. I'd love you to say hi.

Cheers,

Rachael

Update...

New, but old project to post up soon. Be sure to check back later.

Check It Out!

Hey all,

Thanks for dropping by... not much crafting happening here at the moment.
But hopefully some later on in the day.  I added a link section to a variety of Challenge sites that I have come across for most of which are for cardmaking. Some of the challenge sites are weekly and others are fortnightly. They are great way to get some inspiration when your lacking your Mojo! Anyways enough about me for today.

Brenda, Brenda, Brenda! Lol
Somehow I made Brenda feel a little guilty about not having upadated her blog in over 18 months (I'm still not sure how I managed it - sorry) So to support her and to encourage her to keep on blogging, head on over and check out Brenda's  (aka Scrapratt) blog, she has posted up a new project. She is a busy bee, but truly an inspiration. :0)

My Paper World, Papertake & Caardvarks Challenge

My Paper World set a challenge to use Sketch #5.
Papertake set a challenge to use the colours blue and green.
Caardvarks was to use the theme the "Love of Friendship".

So considering all of those factors, I decided to combine the three together and this is what I came up with. The colours are probably not something I would use together and so I struggled a little bit accepting what it was looking like as it was coming together. Once I had finished assembling the card I thought it didn't really look like something I would usually do, it looked a little "old".
I put my faith in my trusted Kindyglitz and glitzed the yellow flower centres and all of the light green flowers. Ah... what a relief it now looks something like I would make.
I certainly can't live without my Crystalina Kindyglitz.

Anyways off to add my comments on the above mentioned blogs and to get ready for tonights class.

New Look!

Hi all, if you regularly check in on this, my blog, you will notice I get bored easily.
I like to change things around. I looked at my header and on here and all I could think of was, "What was I thinking?" So of course I knew then that it was time for a change. I'm only new to this whole blog thing so if you have any hints or tips for me, or even let me know what you think of the new header and colours feel free to leave a comment. Also feel free to leave a comment just to say hi and introduce yourself!

Miserable weather here today and the boy has just gone down for asleep so I think I'm going to go and take the opportunity to finish a card I started earlier on in the week.

O, I did manage to get my entry uploaded yesterday to 123scrapbook my pic was to big and I had no idea how to shrink it down... still don't really. LOL.

Signing off happy thanks to the blah weather :o)

123Scrapbook February Challenge

Here it is my first ever submission to anything....
123scrapbook.com.au set a challenge this month to design a card using their sketch and above is what I came up with... the only problem is right now, I'm having troubles uploading it over there. Anyways going to go and see if I can get it to upload over there.

Sketch Diary

Imagine.... Create..... Inspire

I decided to buy an A5 sketch book the other week to record different ideas and sketches for cards and layouts. The boring black cover was calling out to me.... so I scrapped it and then Mod Podged it to protect it. A creative book needs a creative cover to inspire the imagination.
The size of it is great, small enough to take with me, but big enough to be able to see the designs and ideas once in it.

So there you have it..... my 3 projects for the weekend! It's been awhile since I've created more than one thing in a weekend.
Signing out to go and be creative again... another card required for tomorrow, invite design to be finalised for my little man's birthday and a wedding invite to design using blue and silver...

Thinking thinking thinking.....

Feel free to leave comments and questions!

Signing off hoping I've given someone else some inspiration!

Card #2

Card ahoy!!! Card #2 for the weekend was for one of my man's workmates who was turning 30. (He tells me on Friday night after I've already been to the store and
picked up supplies, and we need it for Saturday arvo!) So this resulted in a dash to store once again on Saturday afternoon on our way home. after us both getting hair cuts and colours.

Ok....so I was out of my comfort zone. I find Male cards hard enough to make and then once we get home he puts the pressure just a little bit more and and says it has to be "rough". Rough? What does he mean by rough?
And if that's not enough pressure, my man oversaw the whole design and construction of this card. As I pulled out a piece of black ribbon I was told, "don't make it girly". Eventually he was happy with what I (we) came up with.
I think after the man's contribution on this one I reckon I could make a scrapper out of him yet!
Thankfully the card was recieved with great enthusiasm, (I found out that my man has been talking my work up to his mates at work), once he opened it he said, "This is going straight into my computer room, it would be the pool room if
I had one".
This coming from a blokey bloke, I must have done an alright job.

Card #1

This was my first of 2 cards for the weekend. All design credits go to Brenda
(aka ScrapRatt). I attended another one of Brenda's classes last Wednesday and we made this card using Blues instead of Pinks, along with some stamping for the cake stand. I've made this for an up and coming wedding in April. (I just realised....
I'm actually organised for once)
If only I had my little prince's invitations under control for his 1st Birthday at the end of next month. I am working on finalising the design by the end of this week so I can pick up all my supplies for them on the weekend.
Thanks Brenda for this gorgeous design!

Mission accomplished!

I finally managed to get the computer all sorted, I'm able to download photos now. Thank goodness! (648 photo's later)

So here they are my first pics for my blog! (Let's hope I can do that! LOL!)

A 1st Birthday card and it's own special box!

Despite my hopes of stealing 5 minutes to get a start on the card on Thursday night, that didn't happen. But Friday night was the night and I must say I am happy with how the card turned out. On the otherhand the box didn't quite come up as nice as I would of liked it.
The recipients loved it however, so I suppose that's what counts.

A fairly quiet weekend around here after the party on Saturday, which was quite a change. We watched some movies and to me the weekend was topped off with the return of Grey's Anatomy and Brothers and Sisters last night.

I'm in the process of reorganising office at the moment but am stuck on how to store all my embellishments, especially die cuts, stickers and lumpy bumpy things..... Any suggestions????

Have a good week everyone and those who are at work... try not to work to hard!

Computers #@*!

So my blog isn't off to a good start! :o(
No posts in weeks.

I recently had my Laptop in getting fixed and everything and since then, everything I try to do just ends up being like a big bright red STOP sign! I attempted to download some photos and realised that I have to reinstall the program which they run through. (But me being so disorganised right now, can't find the disc.)

I started a 4 week cardmaking course last week and have had 2 classes so far. Lots of fun. My indulgence time for me of late, as work has been extremely busy for my man and he's hardly been home.

Will definitely be crafting a birthday card tomorrow, ready for Saturday. Hopefully between now and then I can find the disc, so I can upload a pic or two!

Definitely crafting weather here right now, so I think I'll go and steal 10 minutes and get a start on that card.

Craft till your hearts content.
